About the Role:

As a Shared Packaging Associate, you will operate and monitor a variety of production equipment to safely and efficiently manufacture and package fiberglass insulation. Working under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor, you will set up and run machines, perform routine quality checks, complete required documentation, and support changeovers and minor troubleshooting. You will collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to meet shift targets while upholding strict safety, quality, and housekeeping standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor a range of production and packaging equipment to manufacture fiberglass insulation.
  • Watch equipment performance for early signs of malfunction and take corrective action or escalate issues promptly.
  • Manually replenish packaging materials to keep lines running.
  • Communicate with the Cold End Coordinator to replenish packaging supplies as needed.
  • Notify the Shift Supervisor or Cold End Coordinator of equipment problems and preventative maintenance needs to ensure safety and maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain clean, orderly work areas; properly store equipment, tools, and supplies throughout the shift and before breaks, meals, and end-of-shift.
  • Follow all safety procedures; recognize warning signs and signals and takecorrective action.
  • Meet attendance expectations, including punctuality, mandatory overtime, and occasional coverage of other shifts.
  • Stay current on plant and safety practices; participate regularly in department and plant safety meetings.
  • Work with a strong sense of urgency to meet production goals and minimize downtime.
  • Perform assigned environmental, quality, and energy responsibilities.
  • Complete administrative tasks and other duties as directed.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of industrial experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have exhibited excellent attendance in prior work history and be committed to maintaining such attendance. This is a key qualification, due to the unusual nature of the operation.

  • Observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
  • Accurately count and perform basic math functions, including mental calculation of simple equations and/or fractions.
