About the Role:

 

Join our dynamic team as an Automation Engineer and be at the forefront of innovation, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to revolutionize our manufacturing network. In this exciting role, you'll collaborate with passionate professionals, applying your expertise in automation engineering and project delivery to lead the design and implementation of automated solutions for capital projects. Responsibilities

Safety

  • Work safely and continually look for improvements in personnel and equipment safety
  • Ensure safe design and operation of new equipment
  • Ensure automation design reflects safety and ergonomic concerns for operations and maintenance

Automation Design

  • Partner with colleagues to lead the discipline through solution assessment, replication, and development
  • Provide support to manufacturing during project profiling and design
  • Exploring and implementing new ways to automate systems
  • Designing and testing automation equipment and processes
  • Eliminating defects and errors with product and software development
  • Analysis of operations, workflows, and packaging process to provide solutions to maximize efficiency and reduce waste 

Project Engineering

  • Ensure project design meets intended requirements, considers life cycle cost, and eliminates non-value add complexity
  • Use replication and best practices to optimize project cost
  • Work with other engineering team members and disciplines to deliver turnkey project implementation to the plants

Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar engineering or technology field 

Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience as an Automation Engineer or Similar
  • Factory storeroom experience in a manufacturing environment 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to travel 35% of the time
  • Proficiency in maintaining automation equipment
  • Experience with robotics, AI and machine learning
  • Experience with project management
  • Solid understanding of computer programming and software development
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex system tests
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Creative thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate well with other members of the engineering team
  • Ability to keep up with the latest technologies
  • A desire to continually upgrade technical knowledge
  • Ability to manage contract resources and projects to deliver a common set of objectives
  • Ability to drive the highest levels of employee retention and engagement to ensure a sustainable workforce.
