Pay Rate: 

Perfect Attendance Bonus: $.75/hour

 

Up to a 5% quarterly bonus!

 

Schedule: Day time hours; 7am - 4pm EST

About the Role:

 

As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing plant equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and promote safe work practices, including lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Assess and determine when machines require repairs or service, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled and as needed.
  • Communicate maintenance issues across shifts to ensure operational continuity.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, adhering to housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings and stay updated on plant and safety matters.
  • Work on a 12-hour rotating shift (8:00 PM - 8:00 AM) and be available for mandatory overtime or shift coverage as needed.
  • Perform additional work-related duties and projects as assigned.
  • Drives the highest levels of employee retention and engagement to ensure a sustainable workforce.
  • Fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the organization.
  • Instills an environment of inclusion, where all employees feel that they can contribute and impact the company in a positive manner.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience with mechanical equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Must obtain and maintain an OSHA Certified Industrial Truck Operator License.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, rotating machinery, pumps, pipe fitting, welding, and fabrication.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret technical information.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Health and Safety Requirements:

  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including fire protection, ergonomics, and personal protective equipment protocols.
  • Participate in safety training programs and report any accidents or incidents immediately.
  • Maintain a tobacco-free environment and ensure good housekeeping practices.
