Join Our Team as a Senior Maintenance Technician – Spinner Shop!

 

Are you a skilled technician with a passion for maintenance, electrical systems, and continuous improvement? Knauf Insulation is looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our Spinner Shop team. This is your opportunity to work with advanced equipment, lead maintenance initiatives, and ensure the reliability of our fiberglass manufacturing operations. About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be the backbone of our Spinner Shop operations, ensuring all equipment is running efficiently and safely. Your primary focus will be on performing skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for both mechanical and electrical systems. You’ll also play a key role in optimizing automated processes, updating controls, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers a dynamic work environment where your expertise will directly impact the quality and efficiency of our operations.

 

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform predictive, preventative, and reactive maintenance on all equipment, including CNC mills, EB drillers, and automated systems. Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Electrical Expertise: Update and troubleshoot PLCs, controls, and automated cells. Read, understand, and update electrical schematics and e-plans.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to equipment and processes, ensuring optimal performance and product quality.
  • Leadership and Training: Lead and coach Spinner Shop Technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration and skill development.
  • Resource Management: Maintain spare parts inventory, develop maintenance procedures, and ensure accurate SAP updates for all maintenance activities.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conduct risk assessments, ensure compliance with safety standards, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Drives the highest levels of employee retention and engagement to ensure a sustainable workforce.
  • Fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the organization.
  • Instills an environment of inclusion, where all employees feel that they can contribute and impact the company in a positive manner.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate’s Degree in MET or EET (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) or equivalent work experience.

 

Experience:

  • Senior-level expertise in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Moderate understanding of control systems.
  • Familiarity with EB drilling (preferred, but training available).

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SAP and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to read and update mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of screw line pumps and quality systems.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proven track record of implementing and sustaining continuous improvement projects.
  • Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass physical and training requirements for operating a box truck and forklift.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 5%).
