Summary of Position:

 

Embark on a leadership journey with Knauf North America as the Manager of our Plant Engineering Group! Oversee the Corporate Plant Engineer Team while actively handling impactful projects. Drive the annual General Capital Allocation process, craft capital execution reports, and streamline project approvals to align with Knauf North America standards. Champion the Continuous Improvement of our Capex functions, enhancing efficiency and fostering innovation. Lead the charge in shaping the future of plant engineering and make a significant impact at Knauf North America!

Responsibilities

Leadership and Supervision

  • Provide direct supervision and mentorship to Plant Engineering group team members
  • Ensure that the team is aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Regularly evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback.

Capital Allocation and Planning

  • Lead the annual General Capital Allocation process by collaborating with plant teams to plan and execute projects.
  • Identify potential capital improvement projects and prioritize them based on strategic importance and resource availability.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare monthly and annual reports summarizing capital execution for plant and KINA leadership teams.
  • Analyze project performance data to provide insights and recommendations for future improvements.

Project Approval and Management

  • Collaborate with the Fixed Asset Accounting team to oversee the project approval workflow.
  • Ensure timely and accurate project approvals in compliance with KINA standards.

Project Execution

  • Ensure that all projects are executed based on agreed-upon KINA standards, focusing on safety, quality, and cost-efficiency.
  • Serve as a project manager for selected initiatives, overseeing all phases from design to implementation.
  • Work closely with other engineering team members and disciplines to deliver turnkey project implementations.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field

Experience:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, with at least three (3) years in a managerial role.
  • Proven track record in project management and capital allocation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of SAP PM module.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of production and processing techniques.
  • Knowledge of inventory processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of specialty equipment and systems, uses and applications.
  • Ability to oversee projects and manage resources within budget.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
  • Ability to review data and make strategic decisions that will impact the company from an engineering standpoint.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of machinery and its design/use.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of fiberglass manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of CI/lean processes/methodology highly preferred.
