Summary of Position:

 

As a Production Superintendent, you'll take the helm of operations for two dynamic production lines, steering the seamless conversion of raw materials into top-notch finished goods. Your mission is to champion the safe and superior production of products, while rigorously upholding production benchmarks. Should the Production Manager be away, you'll become the go-to person.

 

This shift runs from 5 PM to 5 AM, covering a spectrum of responsibilities across Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Processing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Plant workforce for the crew assigned including the Production, Warehouse, Maintenance and Process Departments
  • Lead Daily Shift Communication Meetings with the off-going shift leadership team and with the on-coming shift at the end of shift
  • Delegate work assignments/projects based on priorities
  • Ensure the safety of everyone on the crew during the shift and directs efforts of all production employees on the crew and of QA on the shift
  • Offer performance feedback to employees, both positive and constructive including formal performance evaluation for Shift Leader and indirect line for Process and Maintenance technicians
  • Review production schedule and to ensure the proper people are assigned to the appropriate job tasks
  • Address adjustments to schedule and communicate adjustments to others as needed
  • Monitor operating performances of equipment and contact maintenance for needed repairs, adjustments or troubleshooting
  • Prepare all necessary paperwork and record keeping for shift
  • Drives the highest levels of employee retention and engagement to ensure a sustainable workforce
  • Fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the organization
  • Instill an environment of inclusion, where all employees feel that they can contribute and impact the company in a positive manner

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management or related field
  • Lean certification preferred

 

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ supervisory/management experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment
  • Minimum two (2) years’ Union experience preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of plant processes
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Knowledge of 6S or Lean Manufacturing preferred
  • Computer skills in MS Office environment; proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
