Summary of Position:

 

The Regional IT Field Service role is pivotal in steering and synchronizing IT activities at KINA plants. This individual acts as a crucial intermediary between the Regional and Central IT teams and the manufacturing sites, guaranteeing that IT projects at the plant level are in harmony with Knauf's IT benchmarks and objectives. They will collaborate closely with both Regional and Central IT Administrators and Support teams to assure continuous, round-the-clock operation, upkeep, and assistance of the end-user and local infrastructure computing environments, adhering to established IT protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance to IT standards and license agreements
  • Support the roll-out of new services, tools, or standards in close collaboration with Regional and Central IT
  • Utilize the Service Management tools and processes (e.g. Incidents, Requests, and Change management)
  • Guide the IT support activities at the plant(s) within a defined region
  • Assist in the management of local servers and networks
  • Assist with the administration and support of end-point devices incl deployments, lifecycle refreshes, asset management
  • Participate in major infrastructure projects
  • Training and Communication
    • Ensure user community is aware of events, outages, etc.
    • Provide training on IT infrastructure services and tools
    • Enable knowledge sharing and train-the-trainer approach for end-user IT related processes
    • Promote the use of standard IT services
  • Support local applications
  • Drives the highest levels of employee retention and engagement to ensure a sustainable workforce

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field; or equivalent relevant work experience
  • IT certifications helpful

 

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ IT experience in a similar environment, manufacturing preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to support 24/7 operation which will require after hours and weekend support at times.
  • Knowledge of MS Platforms (Exchange, Active Directory).
  • Knowledge of bandwidth monitoring, Net Flow, and SNMP.
  • Ability to manage and troubleshoot LAN / WAN / Wi-Fi networks.
  • Understanding of Internet based connectivity and telecommunications data/voice including fiber optics, MPLS, T1, POTS, and Primary Rate Interface (PRI).
  • Must have ITSM experience
  • Computer skills in a MS Windows environment (Expert)
