Summary of Position:

 

As a Territory Sales Manager, you will develop new and existing sales opportunities in a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets/forecasts while protecting profitability. Promote the company brand to potential customers and downstream partners, educating them on the features and benefits of Company products. Show value added propositions to customers and down channel market. Represent Knauf in a professional manner and within the legal parameters of the law. This individual will cover a territory that includes California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow existing accounts by developing a solid understanding of customers' unique needs and preferences, recommending relevant products/solutions, maintaining regular contact, providing ongoing support and cultivating long-term relationships
  • Identify prospective customers and follow leads to develop new business opportunities
  • Monitor and analyze market conditions and sales statistics, competitors' activities in the area, product innovation, etc.
  • Make joint sales calls with customers, influencers/partners and prospects
  • Demonstrate use/installation of Company products
  • Serve as a liaison between the customer and corporate office
  • Perform administrative functions in a timely manner, including but not limited to:
    • Preparing/filing required reports, such as quality and service reports, daily logs and expense reports
    • Maintaining a complete profile of each customer
    • Assisting in developing sales budgets/forecasts
  • Represent Company in local trade organizations
  • Explain and clarify Company Service Guidelines to customers
  • Develop extensive knowledge of all glass wool and competitive insulation products for thermal or acoustical applications 
  • Provide hands-on training and product demonstrations targeted to the needs of builders, contractors, energy raters and industry professionals
  • Acquire knowledge of regional partner’s business strategies, operational capacities and strategic goals to tailor partnering solutions that will leverage the strengths of both parties and create market demand
  • Create and define annual business plans with core partners and conduct regular reviews and status updates
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve total customer satisfaction and fulfill defined objectives

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of successful sales experience, preferably in the Building Materials industry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of insulation manufacturing preferred
  • Working knowledge of a CRM system, such as Bridge or Salseforce.com, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
